Russia targets NATO during air force drills - Ukraine Intel

Fighter jets train on conducting airstrikes in the Black Sea region

Russian fighter jets are training to conduct air strikes against NATO members in the Black Sea region. The air force is learning to target military infrastructure of Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey. This is reported by the Main Intelligence Office of Ukraine's Ministry of Defence.

"During the drills Russian scout aircraft IL-20 conducted a reconnaissance flight to locate the targets in the NATO countries," it said in the statement.

The Intelligence Office claims, two Russian bombers TU-22M3 also practiced rocket strikes against assumed land and above-water enemies.

"The air force of Romania and Bulgaria monitored the activity of the Russian jets," according to Ukraine's intel.

Moscow ordered to begin military drills in the occupied Crimea on April 18. Kyiv claimed Russian army was preparing for potential military actions against Ukraine and the neighbouring states.
