Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister met with foreign military atteches
Ukraine doesn't see any practical steps of separatist forces to progress in a peaceful settlement in the Donbas, the Ministry's official statement reads.
Deputy Minister of Defence on European Integration Ihor Dolhov held a meeting with accredited in Ukraine military attaches of the U.S.A., Canada, the U.K., the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Poland and the head of NATO Liaison Office in Kyiv.
Dolhov informed round-table participants about military and political situation in eastern Ukraine, in particular, about a peaceful resolution on the occupied territories and Minsk agreements implementation.
"Unfortunately, the situation in the east continues worsening. The Ukrainian party sees no practical steps proving the intent of militants to start the peace-making process in the Donbas", the deputy minister stated.
He also emphasized the importance of the OSCE police mission in the rebel-held region in order to provide security and observe international arrangements in temporarily occupied territories.
The Deputy Minister thanked the attaches for the support of their governments in training soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and expressed the necessity to further expand the joint training mission.
The parties also discussed the details about preparing the NATO-Ukraine Commission meeting and the upcoming NATO summit in Warsaw.
