Russian helicopters in Lithuanian skies – border guard service

Three choppers with no identification spotted crossing from Kaliningrad region

Russian helicopters were seen crossing into the Lithuanian territory from Kaliningrad on Tuesday - Delfi reports. According to the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence, the choppers were not detected on the radar.

On April 12, the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service reported three helicopters had possibly crossed the border from Kaliningrad region in Russia, then turned back and left the Lithuanian territory. The choppers did not bear any identification.

The border guard service chief said the information on the incident was submitted to the Armed Forces, who are now either to confirm or deny the violation of border. An army representative said there might have been no violation, as the helicopters were spotted from a long distance.
