Navy air force hold military exercises to locate submarines on occupied peninsula

Russia is conducting large-scale military drills in the occupied Crimea. More than 20 helicopters and naval aviation warplanes were training to destroy submarines and shell the coastal army positions.

"During the training antisubmarine aircraft Be12 and helicopters Ka27PL were conducting search and destruction of a submarine of a simulated enemy," Navy representative Vyacheslav Trukhachev has reported. He added the servicemen also practiced landing operations.

The drills come less than a week after the start of NATO naval exercises in the Black Sea. The multinational Breeze wargames comprise 16 Alliance members.

In April, Russian air force held similar military exercises on the occupied peninsula.
