Kremlin-controlled separatists in Donbas agreed for ceasefire from the midnight but already broke the agreement

Russian-backed separatist forces in Donbas during the talks of previous session of Minsk Trilateral group agreed for the ceasefire on the start of the new academic year in schools. The agreement meant stop shooting today at midnight. But the militants' attacks all over the frontline continue, so Ukraine initiate urgent video-conference of Minsk group.

Darka Olifer, press secretary of Ukrainian representative in Minsk Leonid Kuchma, revealed the details on her page in Facebook.

"Due to non-compliance of separatists' commitments on ceasefire from midnight August 31, 2016 because of the start of the new academic year, the Ukrainian side has initiated an emergency video conference of the Trilateral Liaison Group. Skype-meeting is planned for tomorrow, 1 September, at 12:00," - Olifer wrote

General situation in Donbas during previous day was very tense. Ukrainian army reports of 75 attacks and fire raids by Russian-controlled forces on all directions. 24 cases of violations of Minsk agreements were recorded in Donetsk region, 25 – near Mariupol, and 26 – in Luhansk region. Ukrainian positions and settlements suffered hits of 122 mm and 152 mm artillery, heavy mortars, machine gun and sniper fire.
