Kremlin says extradition is only possible if Kyiv agrees to execute verdict on Ukrainian pilot

Ukraine must fully accept Nadiya Savchenko's verdict delivered by the Russian court. The extradition of the Ukrainian pilot will only be possible if Kyiv agrees to send her to prison. This is according to the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service.

"If Ukraine's Ministry of Justice guarantees the full execution of the verdict, the Federal Penitentiary Service will apply for the extradition of the accused", said in the statement.

The Kremlin expects Kyiv to imprison Savchenko for 22 years as ordered by the Russian court.

Earlier Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko categorically refused to accept the verdict on the pilot. "Ukraine will never recognise the so-called trial and the sentence. I stress, never!", Poroshenko posted on Facebook.
