Seven Ukrainian soldiers dead, nine injured in eastern Ukraine

The death toll is the highest in a year

The National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (NSDC) reports that in the past 24 hours, seven Ukrainian servicemen were killed and nine more were wounded in the area near the occupied territory of Donetsk.

The head of Ukraine's NSDC Oleksandr Turchynov stated: "Only for the past day as a result of shelling seven Ukrainian soldiers died and nine got injuries".

He emphasized that this is the largest number of losses for the Ukrainian Army in the past year.

"Military and political authorities of the Russian Federation are responsible for those bloody provocations that are constantly and systematically violating the peaceful way of resolving the conflict and the release of occupied territories", Turchynov added.
