Russian-backed separatist forces open sporadic fire
The situation in the conflict zone in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions is now stable. Since the beginning of the day the Russian-backed separatist forces haven't attacked the positions of the Ukrainian soldiers.
However, the militants opened occasional fire during the past 24 hours, according to the press-service of Ukraine's military.
"5 ceasefire violations were registered during the last day. The enemy used an anti-tank grenade launcher to attack our forces", the officials stated.
The shootings took place near separatist-controlled Donetsk and Horlivka.

The decrease in military activity followed a recent spike of violence. Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed on April 30. A day later another serviceman died and 7 were wounded.
Earlier Ukrainian President Poroshenko urged Russia to respect the ceasefire during the Easter holidays.
