Suspected debris from missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 found on Mauritian island

Plane went down on March 8, 2014

Australia says a piece of debris found on the coast of a Mauritian island suspected of belonging to missing Malaysian Airlines plane MH370 will be examined as "an item of interest."

Guests at a hotel on Rodrigues Island found the item and said it look like the interior of an airplane.

MH370 disappeared on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014, with 239 passengers and crew on board.

A search, led by Australia has focused on a 120,000-sq-km (46,330-sq-mile) band of sea floor in the remote southern Indian Ocean.
