Ukrainian representative in Minsk disclosed details of negotiations
The Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk almost reached an agreement on withdrawing military forces from a demarcation line in eastern Ukraine.
This is reported by Ukrainian delegation member for the security group Yevhen Marchuk, Hromadske news agency reports.
The parties negotiated pullback of troops near Stanytsia Luhanska (in the Luhansk region) and some areas in the Donetsk region.
"At the final meeting, we almost agreed to withdraw troops 1.5-2 kilometres away from some parts along the front line in order to avoid any consequences", Marchuk stated. "We negotiated Stanytsia Luhanska in the Luhansk region, and some areas in the Donetsk region - I won't specify them as I don't want to endanger the success".
Yevhen Marchuk added they also negotiated with leaders of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
"Apart from discussing the issue within working groups, the Trilateral Contact Group also had a meeting and reached an agreement with these (militant) representatives – Pushylin, Deynego, Zurabov, Hryzlov and Saydik. Now we will have to develop a practical approach", the Ukrainian delegation member explained.
