Two soldiers killed, four wounded overnight in eastern Ukraine

Ukraine reports militants violate ceasefire, hold provocations

Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and four more wounded in clashes with Russian-backed separatist forces over the last 24 hours. That's according to Oleksandr Motuzianyk, Ukraine's military spokesperson.

"Unfortunately, two Ukrainian servicemen have died. Four more soldiers have been wounded," he said at a briefing in Kyiv.

Motuzianyk added one serviceman was killed and two were wounded after hitting a landmine in the direction of Luhansk. He also said one soldier died in a blast of an unknown explosive device.

Two fighters were injured in the town of Avdiivka in militantt shelling.

Ukraine's military spokesperson also said Russian-backed separatist forces violated the ceasefire one time in Luhansk region. Meanwhile, two militant provocations were reported in the direction of Donetsk.
