Tensions remain high in the region after North Korea threatened to launch advance towards Seoul
More military exercises, right on North Korea's doorstep.
U.S. and South Korean troops have conducted joint river-crossing drills, just miles from the demilitarised zone. Tanks, fighting vehicles and 500 soldiers were involved, a U.S. army official told Reuters.
Tensions remain high in the region. Last month, North Korea labelled the joint U.S.-South Korean exercises as ‘nuclear war moves' and threatened to respond with an all-out offensive.
North and South Korea have technically been at war since the 1950-53 Korean War ended in a truce without a peace treaty.
