U.S.'s outgoing Ambassador to Ukraine names Putin's strategic error

Pyatt says Kremlin leader underestimated G7 and E.U.'s solidarity

Geoffrey Pyatt, the outgoing Ambassador of the U.S. to Ukraine, says Russian President Vladimir Putin made a strategic blunder concerning Ukraine.

Speaking at an international conference 'Ukraine – E.U.: Turning Challenges into Opportunities' Pyatt stated: "Putin has made a strategic error concerning Ukraine, he underestimated the solidarity of all the G7 countries and all the European partner states."

The Ambassador also added that Ukrainians should build their future on their own and it must not be decided in Moscow.

Pyatt reiterated the U.S. support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
