UK's position on sanctions against Russia remains unchanged - Theresa May

Ukraine's President had phone conversation with UK Prime Minister 

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated Theresa May on her appointment as UK's Prime Minister, the presidential press office reports

The parties have discussed issues of bilateral and international cooperation in terms of UK's decision to leave the EU.

The President expressed gratitude to the British Government for their unwavering support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Theresa May confirmed UK's position on sanctions against Russia remains unchanged: the sanctions must remain until the Minsk agreements are fully implemented.

UK's Prime Minister also stressed Britain's strong commitment to the policy of non-recognition of Crimea's annexation by Russia.

The parties expressed interest in expanding economic cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

During the phone talks, the parties also discussed UK's further financial and expert assistance in implementing reforms in Ukraine and training Ukrainian soldiers.

Petro Poroshenko has invited Theresa May to visit Ukraine.
