In May this year Boris Johnson came under fire for suggesting the EU was partly to blame for Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson has reaffirmed his country's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"Productive first meeting with Ukraine FM Pavlo Klimkin. UK will not compromise on sovereignty of any part of Ukraine," Johnson tweeted, following his interaction with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin during a meeting of foreign ministers of the OSCE countries in Germany.

The meeting was scheduled at the behest of German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

The United Kingdom has repeatedly said it would continue to keep up the pressure on Russia, urging Moscow to implement the agreements within the framework of the Minsk process and calling for the country's return to the international legal framework.
