Minsk agreement and Donbas elections are on the agenda
Ukrainian President is planning to hold a meeting with the European leaders this June.
Petro Poroshenko is going to discuss the situation in the country with European Council and Commission Presidents Donald Tusk and Jean-Claude Juncker. It is expected the Minsk agreement and elections in Donbas will top the meeting's agenda.
This news emerged shortly after the E.U.-Ukraine summit was postponed. It was scheduled for May 19 originally. The new date is expected to be next September.
Recent rumours implied the session was delayed due to the lack of reform progress in Ukraine. The new date could provide the Ukrainian government more time for further implementation of the economic and political changes.
However, the E.U. has dismissed these rumours. "The summit delay has nothing to do with the reforms. It has been postponed because of several reasons, mainly referendum on the Association agreement in the Netherlands and the "Brexit" vote in the U.K", European officials have claimed.
They add the delay will also allow the IMF to finish their mission in Ukraine.
Dutch representatives said earlier the Netherlands would submit a proposal on the visa liberalisation despite the negative outcome of the E.U.-Ukraine referendum.
