Enemy uses heavy machine guns and grenade launchers - ATO headquarters
Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 54 times in the past 24 hours, including 22 times in the Donetsk sector, 20 times in the Mariupol sector and 12 times in the Luhansk sector, according to the press centre of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
"In the Donetsk sector, the enemy fired heavy artillery systems on the village of Novobakhmutivka. The militants also used 120mm mortars near the village of Verkhniotoretske. They opened fire from mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and heavy machine-guns in the town of Avdiyivka and the village of Novoselivka Druha, grenade launchers of various systems in the villages of Pisky, Troyitske and Kamianka, as well as infantry fighting vehicles and heavy machine-guns in the village of Luhanske. Additionally, a sniper was active near Avdiyivka," the press centre said.
In the Mariupol sector, Russia's hybrid military force fired 120mm mortars on the Ukrainian positions in the towns of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka. They also repeatedly fired 82mm mortars and grenade launchers on the defenders of the village of Shyrokyne, grenade launchers and machine-guns in the villages of Hnutove, Vodiane and Novotroyitske. Small arms were used in the village of Hranitne. A sniper was active in Shyrokyne, Hnutove and near Maryinka.
In Luhansk region, after a relative lull, the occupiers violated the ceasefire in the evening, having fired rocket-propelled grenades and small arms in the village of Lopaskyne. "They used 120mm mortars and grenade launchers in the village of Krymske. A sniper was working there as well. The enemy launched six shells from a 152mm artillery system on the Ukrainian positions near the village of Trypillia. The militants fired automatic mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine-guns near the town of Zolote. The situation was tense in the village of Stanytsia Luhanska, where the occupiers used infantry fighting vehicles along with mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and heavy machine-guns to attack the village. Furthermore, sniper activity was recorded there," the press centre said.
