Large prisoner swap expected before Orthodox Easter

The Russian-backed separatist forces are currently holding over 110 Ukrainian hostages in the occupied areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

That's according to Yuriy Tandit, adviser to the head of Ukraine's Security Service.

"Generally speaking, the number is even bigger. We should add here our 12 heroes illegally held on the territory of the neighbouring state," Tandit said.

According to the previous reports, Ukraine is going to exchange at least 50 suspected separatists for the 25 Ukrainians held in militant captivity. Tandit said the format of the upcoming swap is yet to be confirmed.
