The legislation would have increased the monthly salaries of lawmakers by more than two times

Ukraine's parliament has adopted a resolution to cancel its recent decision to double monthly salaries of MPs.

On November 1, the resolution was supported by a majority of lawmakers who voted to reject the October 20 bill.

The legislation would have increased the salaries of people's deputies to more than UAH 40,000 (about USD 1,500) per month.

The average monthly income for Ukrainians is currently some USD 200-300.

The decision comes as wealth of Ukraine's politicians was exposed by online asset declarations system.
