"The election of the new government is a crucial development at a time when new momentum is badly needed. We are counting on the further cooperation with Ukraine to help build a stronger country with the help of fundamental reforms," they said.
Mogherini and Hahn say the most important factor is to reform the Ukrainian juridical branch. "We will assist Ukraine to guarantee that key political and economical institutions work transparently and effectively," they added.

EU officials also hope the recent appointment will "give new impulse to the implementation of the Minsk agreements." They claim European Union will continue to support Ukraine on this issue.
The new Ukrainian Prime Minister was elected on April 14. Chairman of Ukraine's Parliament Volodymyr Groysman replaced Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who resigned on April 10. Shortly after, the lawmakers appointed the new Cabinet of Ministers.
