Development of new domestic missiles takes place in the framework of Ukraine's missile shield recovery programme
Ukraine successfully test-fired a new missile on one of its shooting ranges on Friday, August 26.
Ukrainian Presidential Adviser Yuriy Biryukov reported on that on Facebook.
"The first launch of a new rocket took place. Successfully. Accurately", Biryukov wrote on Facebook.
Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council Oleksandr Turchynov observed the test launch, according to the photos Biryukov published on Facebook. Also, the photos demonstrate a launcher of - presumably - a multiple rocket system and rocket taking off into the air.
In March, Turchynov reported on the successful test launch of the Ukrainian-made missile.
"We started to test-fire missiles produced in Ukraine. Today's launch showed that our rocket fulfilled its assignments and hit the intended target," Turchynov said and added that development of new domestic missiles takes place in the framework of Ukraine's missile shield recovery programme, according to the Ukrainian news outlet Hromadske.
He said that is not the only missile programme Ukrainian scientists and defence industry experts are working on.
