Two armoured artillery boats, ordered earlier, are ready for service
The Defence Ministry of Ukraine plans to renew the Naval Forces fleet and build about 30 warships and motor boats.
This was reported by the Ministry's spokesperson lieutenant colonel Oksana Havryliuk.
"In accordance with defence sector strategical documents, Ukraine's Armed Forces are conducting the measures to beef up the Navy and combat capabilities. Currently the Marine Corps, coastal artillery and other units of the Navy are involved in fighting in the conflict zone of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and therefore are ready to repel armed aggression from the sea. Fleet capacities are being expanded. By the order of the Defence Ministry, two small armoured artillery boats have already been built for the Ukrainian Navy, four more are under construction", Oksana Havryliuk.
