According to the President, Ukraine has enlisted the support of most political parties in the European Parliament
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has no doubts that Ukrainians will get visa-free travel to the European Union member states by late November.
"I am confident that the documents on granting the visa-free regime for Ukraine will be signed and ratified by the European Parliament," Poroshenko said in an interview with Ukrainian TV channels.
"I can even say by what date this will be done - by November 24. Because on November 24, the Ukraine-EU Summit will take place and we agreed that the documents will be ready for that Summit," he added.
According to Poroshenko, Ukraine has enlisted the support of most political parties in the European Parliament:
"We have got an absolute majority in the European Parliament regarding the ratification of the agreement on the visa-free regime," the President said.
Last week Rikard Jozwiak, Brussels reporter for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, said that the European Council and the European Parliament will decide on the suspension mechanism for visa-free in early November.
The European Council assures that no additional conditions will be set for Ukraine to abolish visas. It is expected that visa liberalization will be granted simultaneously to Ukraine and Georgia.
