Ukraine is set to prove unlawful Russian economic activity within its maritime economic zone

Ukraine prepares a lawsuit against Russia for illicit gas and oil drilling in the Black Sea, Ukraine's deputy minister for occupied territories and internally displaced persons Georgiy Tuka.

The Ukrainian party has summarised materials to "prove the fact of brigandish fossil drilling within internationally recognised territorial waters of Ukraine's exclusive economic zone", the official noted during a press conference.

Recently the Ukrainian border service boat was  "provocatively attacked by Russian planes, which is one of  the brightest examples of what our ministry is concerned with", Tuka reminded.

The aim of this action is to get arguments for the court "because the international judicial institutions won't accept arguments like 'everybody knows'', he also said.

Having summoned all these arguments, the Ministry of Justice jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are preparing a lawsuit against the Russian Federation, and nine-digit sums of money are bound, Tuka informed.
