Transparent public procurement system and combating corruption are among necessary steps that can bring Ukraine closer to EU
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman claims that Ukraine will become a EU member state in 10 years.
‘I am convinced that Ukraine will join the EU within 10 years…We are following the European path, which signifies liberty, human rights and strong economy', Groysman said in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
According to him, the Ukraine-European Union Association Agreement will become a momentum of reforms.
The Premier also highlighted Ukraine's success in combating corruption, and the importance of harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with the EU laws.
‘We should bring our norms in compliance with the EU norms…A lot has been already done, especially in battling corruption. For example, we have created transparent public procurement system', he added.
In the interview with the German newspaper, Groysman also lambasted Britain's decision on leaving EU.
‘An important signal was sent by the Britain's younger generation who voted to stay in the European Union,' Ukraine's PM stated.
As previously reported, Ukraine intends to attract a loan from Germany in the amount of EUR 300 million for projects in the field of energy and infrastructure.
