General Muzhenko reports of 85 thousand soldiers in reserve to resupply frontline in case of wide Russian aggression
Chief of Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces declared readiness to withstand possible Russian attack.
"External enemy demonstrates the world and the people of Ukraine his readiness for the full-scale aggression. However, the internal enemy launches information campaign on discretization the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thus helping foreign enemy. They are united by one goal – the defeat of our country in the war waged by Russia," – Victor Muzhenko wrote on Facebook.
Therefore, he announced: despite "enemy's demonstration of force and media hysteria, generals, officers, sergeants and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continuously do their work – strengthen the defense of Ukraine".
General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amassed an operational reserve of 85,000 soldiers "with combat experience and high level of psychological readiness" to repel possible Russian invasion, Muzhenko says. Also 8,000 army reservists are called for the combat training to the nine brigades to learn the experience of frontline soldiers.
Earlier today the Russian Defence Ministry started large-scale war games, called Caucasus 2016, with 12,500 troops taking part.
