Ukrainian NGOs call EU to complete visa liberalization process

Reanimation Package of Reforms, NGO Anti-Corruption Action Centre, Transparency International Ukraine, and 22 more institutions signed an open letter

Ukrainian NGOs call the European Union to fulfill their promises and provide practical support, promised to Ukraine.

"We completed the VLAP back in 2015, having now proved that we can make the system function, so we believe to have deserved similar action on the part of the EU", the statement says.

The signees mention that Ukrainian society is already worried by constant delays. Waiving visas raises doubts regarding the reliability of the EU. "A timely decision concerning visa liberalization will not only increase the confidence of Ukrainian society in the European partners but also ensure the irreversibility of the European course of the Ukrainian authorities", the document says.

Therefore, the NGOs call the European Union to promptly launch the procedure of trialogue regarding the decision to waive visas and to introduce the visa-free regime by the end of this year.
