Viktor Shokin returned to work after several weeks on leave
The Ukrainian parliament is voting today to remove embattled Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin from office. According to media reports there are currently too few deputies backing the motion.
Shokin returned work on Wednesday after several weeks on leave. International financial organizations and Western officials including US Ambassador to Ukraine Geofferey Pyatt have called for Shokin's to step down.
Last month Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko added his voice to calls for Shokin to resign.
