Alexander Vershbow honoured 'for personal contribution' to Ukraine-NATO relations

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has honoured NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow with the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, the President's press service has reported.

"The Deputy Secretary General has been awarded for the significant personal contribution to the development of Ukraine's relations with the NATO, the reforming of national security and defence, the maintaining of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," the statement reads.

The Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise is awarded for distinguished services to the state and people of the Ukrainian nation.
