Ukroboronprom also repaired army equipment
State-run Ukroboronprom Concern, which unites major enterprises of Ukraine's military and defense industry, shipped 501 pieces of military hardware and weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the concern's press service.
"A total of 340 pieces of new equipment and weapons were supplied under agreements with the Ukrainian defense agencies. They included 180 missile and artillery systems, 100 units of ammunition, 37 units of encryption and radio equipment, 19 new armored tanks and vehicles," the company said.
Ukroboronprom also repaired army equipment. In particular, 161 units of repaired military hardware were transferred to the Ukrainian army. These include 34 tanks and armored vehicles, 11 trucks, 6 pieces of aviation equipment, 72 engines for armored vehicles and 38 missile and artillery systems.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukroboronprom late in March provided the Ukrainian armed forces with BTR-4 armored personnel carriers, which were retrofitted under NATO standards.
Ukrainian-manufactured Molot 120mm mortars were also shipped to Ukrainian military units participating in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.
State-run Ukroboronprom Concern was established in 2010 to ensure effective operations and management of state-owned business entities that develop, manufacture, sell, repair, modernize and scrap weapons, military and special equipment and ammunition, and participate in the military and technical cooperation. The Concern incorporates over a hundred enterprises of Ukraine's defense industry.
