Visa liberalization fuly depends on Germany's position - experts

Next two weeks are going to be crucial in implementing the visa-free regime for Ukraine. This is according to the Director of the Institute of World Policy Alyona Getmanchuk. She is convinced visa liberalization fully depends on German government that has previously asked its European counterparts to lift dealing with the issue.

"Some E.U. member states asked Germany to specify the possible terms of accepting or denying visa liberalization, since there is a necessity to form the upcoming agenda," says Getmanchuk. At the same time, she insists, Germany may use the visa issue to force the implementation of Minsk agreement, in particular, to make Kyiv pass the law on the elections in Donbas region. Therefore, adds Alyona Getmanchuk, "it is essential to convince German colleagues the visa free regime must not depend on the Minsk process".

As reported earlier, Germany and a handful of other E.U. countries stressed visa liberalization is to be suspended until autumn.
