Former Ukrainian official considers case against him politically motivated
Vladyslav Kaskiv is free. Ukraine's former state investment agency chief posted a video on his Facebook account. Speaking out to the camera, he denies being detained in Panama. Kaskiv also posted an allegedly recent picture of himself with a fresh edition of a local newspaper, standing close to a local Panamian policeman. Kaskiv insists he is ready to cooperate with Ukrainian investigators, though the case itself is politically motivated.
Last week Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office reported of Kaskiv being detained in Panama while he tried to flee to neighbouring Costa-Rica. The former state investment agency chief has been on the wanted list since March. Ukrainian investigators accuse Kaskiv of public funds embezzlement and a range of other crimes.
