Ukrainian capital welcomes a real winter in December

The Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv has coincided with the real meteorological winter on November 29, two days before the calendar date of the winter season.

That day the Ukraine's Central Geophysical Laboratory recorded the average temperature of -3,3°С (26° F).

"The steadfast decrease of the average temperature below 0°С shows the beginning of the meteorological winter, which came to the capital a month earlier this year compared to last year's winter which started on December 29," meteorologists say.

Meanwhile, heavy snowfalls and frosts are forecasted throughout Ukraine in early December, the Hydrometeorological centre reports.
