Yuriy Lutsenko appointed Ukraine's Prosecutor General

Yuriy Lutsenko, the head of the ‘Petro Poroshenko Bloc’ and the newly appointed Prosecutor General of Ukraine

President signs the decree on the appointment immediately after the parliament's approval  

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has voted to appoint Yuriy Lutsenko, the head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction, as country's new Prosecutor General.

The motion tabled by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to tap Lutsenko to head the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine was backed by 264 MPs.

The president signed a respective document on Lutsenko's appointment immediately after the voting.
