Criminal investigation has been launched
The Russian private airplane AN-2, which departed from Berdsk (Novosibirsk region, Siberia) for Krasnoyarsk on July 31, never arrived at the destination, RIA Novosti reports.
The last time the crew contacted an air traffic control officer, the plane flew over the Kemerovo region.
Three crew members were on board.
The plane crashed in the mountains. The helicopter Mi-8 was deployed to spot it.
Rescuers landed near the crash site and walked to the AN-2 plane across the taiga.
"Rescuers have reported that the plane is destroyed, everything is burnt down, nobody survived", said Vladimir Plotnikov, director of the Siberian aviation search and rescue centre.
A criminal investigation has been launched. Investigators plan to fly to the crash site in the near future.
AN-2 is a light transport aircraft. It is used by local airlines to transport passengers and cargo.
