Wilders cast his ballot with polls showing the "No" campaign in the lead
The leader of the Dutch far-right Party for Freedom, Geert Wilders, voted on Wednesday (April 6) in the Dutch referendum on an E.U. treaty about deepening ties with Ukraine.
Here's what he had to say about the referendum.
Geert Wilders: "So I think many Dutchmen are fed up with more European Union and this treaty with Ukraine -- that is, as a matter of fact, not in the interests of the Dutch people -- might send a message to Brussels and the elite all over Europe that enough is enough and that we regain, in this patriotic spring that has started in the last few months, a part of our national sovereignty and once again I hope that later, both in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Europe, other countries will follow."
