Deadly Holidays: Dozens killed, hundreds injured in road accidents across Ukraine (Infographic)

Ukraine's police warns against reckless driving ahead of one more long weekend

Dozens of horrible road accidents happened across Ukraine over the long Easter weekend from April 30 till May 3.

Ukraine's road police revealed a shocking statistics – for 47 people the car trips turned out to be the last ones, and 566 Ukrainians ended up in hospital beds with injuries of varying severity.

The road traffic accidents took place in Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Ternopil and Kharkiv regions.

Speeding, failure to yield and unsafe maneuvering were listed among the main reasons for the car crashes.

With one more long weekend upcoming, road police called on the drivers to be attentive on road and strictly abide by the traffic rules.

"Do not endanger yourself and others! Remember it is better to be late for several minutes, than for the whole life. Your loved ones are waiting for you at home. They deserve peaceful and happy life," police said in an address to the motorists.
