Finishing Point: Both religious processions arrive in Kyiv

Groups, aiming to celebrate the Rus' Christianization Day, plan to meet at Saint Volodymyr Hill on July 27

The group, heading from Pochayiv lavra in the west, came on foot.

The other one, Kremlin-backed procession, heading from Sviatohorsk monastery in the east, arrived by buses.

At least 150 members of the 'eastern' group gather in the Frolov monastery in Kyiv's heart. 



Police have already forbidden the pilgrims, backed by Moscow Patriarchate, to walk through Kyiv streets on Wednesday, July 27. Instead, they will be taken to Saint Volodymyr Hill by buses.

On Tuesday, July 26, police found the hoax mines and the actual caches of grenades along the supposed route of the Kremlin-backed procession. Therefore, the march was cancelled to prevent possible terrorist threats and provocations.
