Refugees and humanitarian organizations are protesting the implementation of the EU-Turkey agreement
First batch of repatriated refugees have been sent back to Turkey from Greek island of Lesbos.
The move was under an EU-Turkey deal clinched last month to stem the influx into Europe via the Aegean Sea. According to the deal, those who have crossed illegally into Greece via Turkey starting from March 20 will be taken back to Turkey and are deemed ineligible for asylum.
Monday's process was carried out under stringent security measures.
Refugees and humanitarian organizations protested the against the EU-Turkey agreement, voicing strong doubts whether the refugees could receive sufficient protection.
