A sightseeing helicopter crashes and burns in a Smoky Mountains area
Five people were killed on April 4 when a sightseeing helicopter crashed and burned in a Smoky Mountains area of eastern Tennessee, authorities said.
No one on the ground was injured in the crash, said Tennessee Emergency Management Agency spokesman Dean Flener. He confirmed that five people were killed, but had no further information on the incident.
The helicopter company involved in the accident has been offering sightseeing flights of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and surrounding areas since 1964.
