Thousands of cars are stuck due to border guards' strike
On Friday morning more than 1,630 cars were waiting for their turn to leave Ukraine at several border crossing points with Poland.
The lineup was the result of the ‘Italian strike' by Polish customs officers, protesting reform of their agency.
According to the press office of Ukraine's Customs Service, about 300 of cars gathered at the crossing points of "Rava-Ruska" and "Krakovets", 250 cars near "Yagodyn-Avto", 220 – at "Uhryniv", and 170 more automobiles at "Shegyni" in Ukraine's western Volyn and Lviv regions.
The protest action is expected to last for about two weeks so drivers are advised to consider this information while planning their routes, or to temporarily avoid travelling to Poland.
The record number of cars was registered at the Ukrainian-Polish border on Wednesday, when more than 2,000 automobiles were standing in a queue.
