Growing number of foreigners cross from Ukraine to Poland

Polish government expresses concern over increasing statistics

The number of foreigners, who came to Poland from Ukraine in March, increased by almost a quarter compared to the same period of time in 2015.
This is reported by Radio Poland, referring to the statistics by the Polish Border Guard Service.

23.8% more foreigners crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border in March this year compared to the same period last year.
Similar figures concerning the Polish-Belarusian border increased by only 0.5%.

The opposite tendency is observed when it comes to movement across the Polish-Russian border. 4.4% fewer foreigners came to the country in March 2016 than in March 2015.

Overall in March, 897,400 foreign citizens entered Poland from Ukraine.

The number of Polish citizens who crossed into Ukraine is tenfold less – 84,600 left the country in March.
