Gunmen attack E.U. military mission headquaters in Mali

One attacker is killed, two arrested

Gunmen attacked the headquarters of the European Union Training Mission in Mali's capital Bamako on Monday, March 21.

One gunman suspect was killed and two arrested. There were no casualties among the mission's personnel.

There has no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. Mali and neighbouring West African countries have increasingly been the target of Islamist militants, some of them affiliated with al Qaeda.
