Authorities say copter was flying tourists without permission
This afternoon a helicopter "Robinson" AS350 crashed into a building in Russian city of Sochi, local media report. According to ‘Sochi Express,' there were five people and a pilot were on board. Rescue services reported one person killed and five injured in a crash.
Witnesses say helicopter crashed into a house in the Imereti lowland during the turn maneuver. It is reported that none of the occupants was injured.
Apparently, the pilot lost control, a technical fault is being considered according to representatives of the city transport supervisory service, the helicopter was returning from a demonstration performance, and machinery could break due to being overloaded.
Federal Air Transport Agency said that the commander of the helicopter could carry illegal sightseeing flights, ‘Dozhd' reports. "General purpose aviation strictly prohibits the carrying of commercial flight passengers by current air legislation," officials assured.
