Famous cascade fountain re-opens after reconstruction in Ukraine's capital (photos)

Kyivans and the city gusts again have an opportunity to enjoy the view of this landmark – wonderful display of water and light

On Friday, September 2, the cascade fountain with lights re-opened after restoration on the Independence Square in central Kyiv (Maidan), near the triumphal columns of the Independence Monument.

The fountain was shut down for major repairs back in 2012. Its re-opening date was postponed several times.

The fountains operates from 10 am to 10 pm every day except Monday.

On August 24, Ukraine's Independence Day, the world-famous fountain Manneken-Pis (Brussels) was dressed in a Ukrainian traditional costume.
