On-going fighting in eastern Ukraine's seriously affects lives of the most unprotected ones
War in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region, officially called the Anti-Terrorist Operation, has already claimed lives of at least 50 children. This sad statistics was reported on Friday by the press service of the Donetsk region police.
According to the report, almost 140 children were wounded as a result of military aggression, 20 became orphans, when about 70,000 were forced to leave their homes and seek safety in other villages and towns of Ukraine.
Only 556 schools remained on the government-controlled territory after Russian-backed separatist forces seized some areas of Donetsk region. The number was twice higher before the conflict started.
Thirteen schools are currently closed because of the unceasing shelling. 37 educational establishment continue to brave danger and work on the contact line.

According to UN data, more than 30,000 people have suffered from Russia's undeclared war in eastern Ukraine, including 9,000 killed, and more than 21,000 injured.
