A brown female bear named Sonetta delivered the cubs during the winter hibernation. The zoo keepers say the mother did not let anyone come close to the cubs for a couple of weeks. Now the personnel feeds the new animals' family members with cow milk and baby formula.

Oleksandr Holovchansky, mammal predators' department: "The cubs are still too small to leave them without care. They sleep a lot and hardly ever play with each other. In the near future, though, the bears will probably show their character."

The staff at the zoo say they are not going to name the cubs since it will be harder to part with them later. The separation, though, is inevitable, since the zoo already has six brown bears in its ranks.
