New Recordings and Shocking Confessions: Polish defence minister pledges more evidence on Smolensk crash

Antoni Macierewicz says Russian controllers and Moscow officials are behind the Poland's worst air disaster

Poland will soon present new evidence that Russia is to blame for the 2010 plane crash in Smolensk which killed country's president and top officials, Polish Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz told in the interview for Rzeczpospolita daily.

The minister specified that the investigative commission is about to present "factual evidence", including new recordings of crew conversations, as well as "shocking confessions" by some member of Miller committee [previous investigation group which concluded its probe in 2011].

The 2010 plane crash near Russia's Smolensk killed 96 people, including the President of Poland Lech Kaczynski with his wife, the former President in exile Ryszard Kaczorowski, 18 Members of Parliament and other high-ranking officials.

Poland's new government resumed the investigation into the fatal crash in February this year.
