Authorities say the main reason for the project is to stop the flow of illegal migrants
The construction of a high-security fence along the border of Latvia and Russia is in full swing.
According to the country's customs officials, Latvia now has full three kilometres of safety. The fence is equipped with barbed-wire, high-tech cameras and several movement sensors. The project is estimated to cost about 17 million euros.
Latvia says the main reason for erecting the fence is to stop the flow of illegal migrants crossing over from Russia.
