Project strives to support Ukrainian athletes who take part in Summer Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro

On August 10, Kyiv's metro station 'Olimpiyska' hosted the photo exhibition dedicated to Ukrainian Olympic champions.

The exhibition features 100 large posters made by famous sports journalist Mykhailo Chernichkin. The photos present the brightest and most emotional moments of victories Ukrainian athletes.

As the project authors say, the exhibition aims to support the Ukrainian Olympic team at the Summer Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and encourage citizens and guests of the capital to go in for sports and to lead a healthier life.

The fifth day of Rio Olympics was rather emotional for Ukraine. Elina Svitolina – kicked out of competitions Serena Williams, the world number one.

At the same time, the Ukrainian team went down five points in overall medal standings. Now the country is ranked 31 out of more than 200 participating countries.
